Abstract

The Uruguayan painter Joaquín Torres García, proposed an original rewriting of Huidobro’s book Tout à coup in Poèmes Paris 1925, where the painter interlaces the poems with symbolic drawings. The encounter of visual imagery and poetic writing in a spirit of friendship throws light on the poems and introduces an original instance of creative dialogue between poetry and painting, and between poet and artist.
