In this essay I pretend to provide a critical perspective on contemporary issues of poetry readings. To do this, I'll consider some of the various media and spaces that the Chinese American poet Tan Lin (1957) has used for his own readings. As it will be seen, these options are part of a poetics, defined as "ambient stylistics", which allows to link it with music and visual arts.
