Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The manuscript submitted to the Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC is original and unpublished and was written by the authors indicated.
    The article has not been sent to another journal, nor will it be submitted to review in another journal unless it is rejected by Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC.
    The signing authors have contributed to the conception, realization, and development of the research, as well as to the writing and revision of the manuscript. All signing authors approved the final version and agree to its publication. No author has been omitted.
    All the original ideas of other authors are duly cited.
    No part of the article violates property rights.
    The consent of those who have contributed original data through verbal or written communication has been obtained, and such communication and authorship are adequately identified.
  • The persons subject of the investigation have declared their consent through formal documents and their identity has been duly safeguarded.
    The investigation has not been subject to "gradual cutting".
    The investigation does not incur fraud.
  • I have read and assimilated the instructions to the authors of Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC.
    I have read the ethical and prevention statement of malpractice of Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC.
    I have read the guidelines for retraction, manifestation of concern, corrections and redundant publication.
  • EXCLUSIVE LICENSE GRANT

    By submitting the manuscript, I hereby grant to Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC (LLM UC Practical Law Journal), without limit of temporality, the exclusive license to publish and distribute it in any language through any type of support, whether now known or later developed.

    I grant the corresponding authorization for the work to be disseminated between the national and international academic and scientific community, with due respect for the author's moral rights, which include maintaining the integrity of the text and its identifiers, safeguarding it from mutilations or different modifications to those necessary for publication.

    I grant the corresponding authorization so that the manuscript is edited according to the style of the journal.

    I agree to request permission to publish translations or summaries of the article.

    Note: If the work is rejected, Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC will formally return the license to the corresponding authors.

Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE AUTHORS

Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC (LLM UC Practical Law Journal) only publishes original and unpublished works. The texts will be the exclusive responsibility of the signing authors.

Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC has four sections. Authors interested in publishing their works should indicate to which of the sections they present their manuscript. However, the journal reserves the right to determine in which section the contributions will be published. All submissions are reviewed by pairs, with the only exception of Legal Opinions and/or Amicus Curiae.

The authors are recommended to read the Retraction Guidelines.

The sections are the following:

1. ORIGINAL RESEARCH ARTICLES OR LITERATURE REVIEWS.

Research article: Work that describes the original findings of an investigation. Usually, the structure includes an introduction, methodology, results, and conclusions.

Extension: between 6,000 and 15,000 words.

Literature review: A Detailed, selective, and critical study integrating and/or consolidating the fundamental information on a topic in a unitary and joint perspective. It is a type of work that systematizes the most relevant information on a specific topic, providing an original perspective. Its purpose is to analyze the published literature and place it under a certain practical perspective.

Extension: between 3,000 and 6,000 words.

2. COMMENTS ON JURISPRUDENCE.

A short academic text carrying out a critical analysis of a subject. The comment illustrates a problem, indicating the means to solve it, and/or outlines required investigations, applications, or theoretical issues.

Extension: between 3,000 and 7,500 words.

3. ORIGINAL ESSAYS.

Academic text that presents a theory or an idea to initiate or extend a discussion with practical application.

Extension: between 2,000 and 3,500 words.

4. LEGAL OPINION and/or AMICUS CURIAE.

They correspond to an investigation on a specific topic, either at the request of an interested party (report in law) or with the aim of publicizing the position of certain interested parties on questions of law involved in a specific case (amicus curiae). Authors must attach the written consent of who commissioned the report. Revista de Derecho Aplicado LLM UC reserves the right to edit parts or all of the reports, with the author's consent. In the same way, the publication may directly request the authors to summarize their writings.

Extension: between 3,000 and 15,000 words.

All articles must have a summary (abstract) of 200 words maximum.

The authors must submit this summary in Spanish and English.

 

3. TEXT, NOTES AND APPOINTMENTS

3.1 Text

The length of the articles will be 15,000 words (maximum). Articles must be presented in Word format. The font to be used will be Times New Roman of 12 points, with 1.5 spacing.

 

3.2 Notes

Authors may include short footnotes. The calls to notes should follow the correlative numbering with Arabic numerals in voladita (or superscript): 1

 

3.3 Appointments

The LLM UC Applied Law Journal follows the rules set forth in the Chicago Deusto Style Manual (footnote and bibliography system).

Additionally, the authors must include their CV.

GUIDELINES FOR THE PUBLICATION OF UNPRECEDENTED COMMENTS ON LEGAL PROBLEMS, DOCTRINE OR JURISPRUDENCE (COMMENTS)

 

Unpublished comments on legal issues, doctrine or jurisprudence: Brief academic text that carries out a critical analysis on a subject.
