Abstract

We analyze three micro-stories written by Vicente Huidobro during the 1920s, though published much later, in 1939, in the literary section of a Santiago newspaper, where they appeared under the title "Cuentos diminutos " [Diminutive Stories]. These micro-stories are significant productions to the extent that, in the first place, Huidobro explores a new narrative form, and, in the second place, the stories themselves focus thematically on the social situation of women. By correlating both of these aspects, we formulate an interpretation of these three Avant-garde micro-stories while highlighting at the same time the feminine dilemma that informs them
