Hemispheric Outlook is a recurring web-based publication of the Hemispheric University Consortium. The purpose of Hemispheric Outlook is to promote awareness of the activities of the HUC in teaching, learning, research and innovation across the member institutions of the HUC and the global community. The initial publication schedule is two times per year. The Hemispheric Outlook is published in the three languages of the HUC – English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Hemispheric Outlook will be managed by a production team, to be announced. Production will include establishing the format for author submissions and coordination of language translation for each submission, and transmission of content to platform team at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Hemispheric Outlook will be produced initially on a twice-yearly basis.

Hemispheric Outlook is published on the Open Journal Systems platform. The journal is hosted on servers managed within the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Libraries.

Content structure: Each issue will feature a theme, illustrated through a set of sections. The following sections are proposed:

(1) ‘thought leadership’ Message from the HUC President related to the theme of the issue;

(2) ‘expert voice’ – entry featuring an HUC researcher or teacher

(3) ‘student experience’ – entry featuring a student

(4) research initiative – entry describing an HUC research initiative

(5) learning initiative – entry describing an HUC learning initative

(6) ‘institutional perspective’ – entry featuring an HUC institution’s contributions
