Even though the relation between media and translation had not been widely studied (Valdeón, 2012; 852), during the last years several authors have dealt with this issue. Due to the importance of media translation, and the role played by media in disseminating ideologies, its study seems to be essential.
This article sets to analyse how the information from a British headline on Spanish current affairs is translated and transmitted by six Spanish newspapers. For that purpose, the ideological square (discourse, society, cognition) of the TO and the TT will be studied. Once this task has been accomplished, we will be able to reflect on the changes identified and the possible consequences for the target audience.
