Abstract

This novel by Hernán Rivera Letelier works as a starting point for a reflection on myth, the epic and utopia in the novel. The essay by Carlos Fuentes Valiente mundo nuevo is used as the main conceptual referent. These reflections suggest the excluding presence of myth in the novel, since utopia and the epic are preemptively cancelled given that their protagonists are dead.
