Abstract

This work develops a textual praxis together with a metatextual theory. Its purpose is to understand and analyse two forms of negative, symbolic and national cohesions present in the contemporary Chilean essay (1925-2010). The main concepts of this theoretical praxis –which I explain here– are essay, enunciation, negativity and subjectivity. The essayistic configurations of these concepts, embodied in enunciative forms and textual figures, would reveal the tacit knowing that prestructures our forms of cultural practice. I propose two models (narrative transformations and matemes) to analyze and interpret these essayistic configurations.
