The stage directions in Benjamin Galemiri plays create an authorial voice that narrates, comments, ridicules, plays with language, and parodies a wide variety of texts and discourses. The device of the playwright as narratorplays a central role in his texts because it allows the author to connect the reader to the dramatic world and to convey his ideological concepts and poetic views. In Déjala Sangrar, the playwright voice plays a keyfunction in establishing a parodical game ofcinematographic references, particularly and, most importantly, to Orson Wells ' The Lady of Shanghai
